Cooking with essential gadgets for every canned food fan!

CANbassador™ Theo Michaels has been sharing his love of canned food and its incredibly versatile nature with a series of brand new recipes exclusive to Canned Food UK.  Using the latest must-have kitchen gadgets as well as culinary staples, Theo has whipped up not one, not two, but four new dishes to tease our taste buds.

“This year has been all about the air fryer – it was the Christmas must-have for any foodie and our love affair continues. I wanted to show how canned foods can be used to make even speedier cooked dishes. I’m also a passionate slow-cooker advocate – ideal as the colder temperatures arrive. I hope you enjoy!” says Theo.

Homemade takeaway? Yes, please! Theo’s got your salty cravings covered with these Louisiana-style loaded wedges. Chop canned potatoes into wedge shapes, whip up your sauce and put in the air fryer. Top with your favourite toppings and enjoy! You can double this up and make it as a main or enjoy it as a starter.

Morning magic- overnight oats

If you aren’t a morning person but still want a breakfast that will set you up for the day- try these overnight oats! Prepping the night before means half the hassle but double the taste. Let your oats absorb the flavour overnight in these delicious recipes- two to choose from.

Use your oats and canned coconut milk to make the base and choose from Theo’s recipes to alter to your liking. Be it a tropical pineapple coconut topping or a rhubarb and yoghurt, layer up your oats with these fruity flavours. These are great for on-the-go and easily transferrable for work or school!

*TIP * Love your iced coffee but never have time in the morning? Keep canned iced coffees in your fridge to grab, you don’t need to feel the environmental guilt- cans are easily recyclable. Simply pop in your nearest recycling bin and voila… most cans are back on the shelf within 60 days!

Mongolian masterpiece – weeknight special

Our final new fan favourite is tasty Mongolian chicken! It’s sweet and hot and can be altered to make any way you fancy. Want it extra spicy? Add some chilli for an extra kick. This versatile recipe means you can prep it beforehand and leave to sit in the slow cooker or oven to cook. A warm and easy meal, perfect for a weeknight.

“Canned foods aren’t just convenient but packed with nutrients,” adds Theo. “Plus, once empty, can be recycled again and again.”
